Holiday – what does it mean to you ?

Some people like an active holiday – horse riding, canoeing through the Gorges du Tarn, or a motorbike trip through the Montagne Noire…

Others enjoy exploring the surroundings – Lautrec, Gaillac, Albi or Castres. With Mediterranean markets, cathedrals, and museums telling the history of the Cathars.
Still others like day trips to the Sidobre, the Pyrenees or the Mediterranean.

We soon found out that there is nothing quite like staying at people’s houses: having a delicious breakfast and exchanging life stories with other guests.

Sharing the table with people you’ve never seen before and laughing and philosophising together.

The estate lends itself to enjoying rural life.
Completely surrounded by fields, meadows and oak trees, there is always a corner where you can linger.
Near the pond, you can hear it being fed by the gently splashing water of the small running stream, season permitting. Exceptional fauna and flora make use of this habitat; an eco-system in itself. Prefer a spot in the sun or shade?
It can be done just like that.

At the back of the garden is a petanque court and our horses’ pastures surround the old farm.
We have a large terrace overlooking the adjoining fields, where sunflowers are sown every 2 years, so with a bit of luck you can look out over the huge sunflower field surrounding the estate. On the terrace, you can fire up the barbecue and enjoy a local wine.
